There is a common misunderstanding of what a bookkeeper actually is. The traditional image of a bookkeeper is one of simple data entry and petty cash expenditure recording. In reality, many people opt to enlist the services of an Accountant when a bookkeeper is perfectly able and qualified to do everything they need to complete the reporting requirements of most sole traders and small businesses.
Having worked in large businesses for all of our careers we can also offer real life managerial expertise as well as having the knowledge and skills to overcome day-to-day real life problems which every business faces from time to time. These are invaluable tools which a traditional Accountancy practice may not have. Or they may not be very interested in sharing experience they do have with their clients, after all – they still get paid whether you have made a small or large amount of profit.
